PORTFOLIO COMMITTEE OVERSIGHT VISIT TO PE TVET COLLEGE
Led by Hon. W.T. Letsie, MP, Chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Higher Education, the Portfolio Committee, as part of its oversight function over Post-School Education and Training (PSET) institutions, visited Port Elizabeth TVET College, Iqhayiya Campus, on Thursday, 5 February 2026.
The purpose of the oversight visit was to engage with the College Council, Management, the Student Representative Council (SRC), and recognised unions to gain insight into the College’s state of readiness for the 2026 academic year, as well as other related matters

PORTFOLIO COMMITTEE PREPARATORY MEETING
Port Elizabeth TVET College, East Cape Midlands TVET College, and ECT College were visited by Mr Mediroe and other DHET National and Regional delegates to assess and confirm the colleges’ readiness for the upcoming Portfolio Committee visit.
Port Elizabeth TVET College hosted the meeting, which was held at the Kemsley Park Site on Wednesday, 21 January 2026.
