MOTHER’S DAY – SUNDAY, 10 MAY 2026
Happy Mother’s Day to all the incredible mothers within our college community.
To our staff and students—thank you for balancing your many roles with grace and determination. You are truly appreciated.
Wishing you a joyful and restful day.
WORKER’S DAY – 1 MAY 2026
WORKER’S DAY BUILD UP
As we approach Workers’ Day on 1 May, we take a moment to reflect on its significance. Workers’ Day, also called Labour Day, celebrates the contributions of workers and recognises the struggles endured to achieve fair labour rights and safe working conditions. It reminds us all of the value of hard work, solidarity, and respect.
At our college, we encourage both staff and students to honour this day by fostering a respectful, inclusive, and professional environment. Treat each other with fairness, communicate openly, and contribute positively to teamwork. Together, we can make our college a safe, supportive, and productive place for everyone.
FREEDOM DAY – 27 APRIL 2026
FREEDOM DAY BUILD UP
As Freedom Day approaches, we pause to reflect on the struggles that paved the way for our democracy and the responsibilities we share in building a united, just, and equitable society.
This Freedom Day, we encourage all staff and students at the college to reflect on what freedom means to you. Let’s celebrate the diversity within our campus, learn from each other’s experiences, and contribute positively by supporting a colleague or fellow student, or taking part in small initiatives that promote inclusion and teamwork.
Together, let’s honour those who fought for our freedom and think about how we can continue making a positive impact in our work, learning, and communities.
HAPPY EASTER WEEKEND
Wishing everyone a joyful and peaceful Easter weekend – 3 – 6 April 2026.
May this special time be filled with love, hope, and moments of happiness with family and friends… and don’t forget to enjoy lots of chocolates and Easter eggs

HUMAN RIGHTS DAY
21 March 2026
Today we honour Human Rights Day. Let us reflect on the value of freedom, dignity, and equality for all.
Together, we uphold these rights every day.
HUMAN RIGHTS DAY COUNTDOWN
Pause. Reflect. Reset.
Time Refund Day is traditionally celebrated every four years on 29 February. While we don’t have a 29 February this year, we can still embrace the spirit of the day by taking a moment to reflect on how we spend our time and committing to mindful time management.
This day is about reclaiming your time and using it purposefully. It’s a chance to focus on what truly matters – whether that means enjoying quality moments with family and friends, tackling tasks you’ve been postponing, starting a new book, or simply taking a moment to recharge. A leap year reminds us that even a single extra day is an opportunity to reset, refocus, and make the most of our time.
At work, Time Refund Day is a perfect opportunity to prioritise important tasks, clear pending projects, learn a new skill, support colleagues, and set meaningful goals for the months ahead. Students can also benefit by catching up on assignments, preparing for upcoming assessments, revising notes, organising their study schedules, and exploring personal or career development opportunities.
Whether at work, at college, or in your personal life, use this day to invest in yourself and your growth. Every intentional step you take today can make a real difference tomorrow.
BLESSED LENT
