CAREER EXHIBITION AT AFM CHURCH IN JOE SLOVO
The College participated in a Career Exhibition at the Apostolic Faith Mission of South Africa (AFM), Joe Slovo, Youth Seminar on Saturday, 5 September 2026.The purpose of the exhibition was to expose young people to a wide range of career opportunities and educational pathways, enabling them to make informed decisions about their future studies and careers.
The College’s Marketing team engaged with the youth and presented information on the NCV programmes currently available for application, highlighting the various study opportunities offered by the College.
The team also provided an overview of the transition to Occupational Programmes, explaining the phasing out of NATED programmes and the introduction of Occupational Programmes as part of the TVET sector’s transition towards more occupationally focused education and training.
APPLICATION DRIVE IN KARIEGA
PE TVET College and Eastcape Midlands TVET College were invited by the Luvatho Vena Foundation to participate in a community application drive held in Kariega on Friday, 4 September 2026.The application drive took place at the New Apostolic Faith Mission Church of S.A. in Kariega and aimed to assist community members with completing their online applications for TVET college programmes. The initiative coincided with the national TVET College application period, which runs from 1 September to 30 September 2026.
Attendees were given an overview of the offerings at TVET Colleges, including the NCV programmes available.
Attendees were further informed about the transition from NATED programmes to Occupational Programmes, as part of the broader transformation taking place within the TVET sector.
The application drive was a great success, providing valuable application support, career and study information, and greater awareness of the opportunities available through TVET Colleges.
CAREER EXHIBITION AT PHAKAMISA HIGH SCHOOL
Port Elizabeth TVET College attended a Career Expo at Phakamisa High School on Friday, 21 August 2026. The event was organised by Sisonke Education Centre, a non-profit organisation that works in partnership with high schools to support learners in making informed educational and career decisions.The purpose of the event was to guide Grade 9 learners in making informed subject choices for Grade 10 by helping them understand the link between their academic pathways and future career opportunities. The event also aimed to create early awareness of scarce skills and vocational education opportunities.
The College’s Marketing team engaged with the Grade 9 learners and provided information on the transition from NATED and NCV programmes towards Occupational Programmes. Learners were also informed about the opening dates for 2027 applications and the NCV programmes that will remain available for application for the 2027 academic year.
The Career Expo was a great success and provided learners with valuable information to assist them in making informed decisions about their future studies and career paths
CAREER EXHIBITION AT NORTHERN LIGHTS SCHOOL
Port Elizabeth TVET College was invited to participate in a Career Exhibition Day held at Northern Lights School on Thursday, 20 August 2026.The exhibition aimed to expose learners to a range of career opportunities, tertiary education programmes,
and workplace expectations, enabling them to make informed decisions about their future studies and careers.
During the exhibition, the College provided learners with information on the phasing out of NATED and NCV programmes and the transition to Occupational Programmes. Learners were also introduced to the purpose of Occupational Programmes, the reasons for the transition, and how these programmes will prepare them for the world of work.
Information was further provided on the 2027 online application period, including the programmes for which NCV applications will be open.
Being part of the invited institutions provided the Marketing team with a valuable and rewarding experience, contributing to learners’ future planning
CAREER EXHIBITION IN HANKEY
On Saturday, 25 July 2026, Port Elizabeth TVET College participated in the Hankey Career Expo, hosted by the RUCC Church, Hankey. The event brought together Grade 11 and Grade 12 learners, as well as unemployed youth, to provide valuable information on education and career opportunities.The College’s Marketing Team engaged with attendees by sharing information about the programmes offered across the College, the phasing out of NATED programmes, and the transition to Occupational Programmes. Learners and community members also received detailed information about the Occupational Programmes available at Iqhayiya Campus, as well as the application dates for the 2027 academic year.
The Career Expo provided an excellent platform to guide prospective students in making informed decisions about their future studies and career paths while raising awareness of the opportunities available at Port Elizabeth TVET College.

CAREER EXHIBITION ON YOUTH DAY
The college was invited to attend the Youth Day celebration at the Jesus Christ Empowerment Centre on 16 June 2026.The Youth Day celebration aimed to inform young people and the unemployed about the college’s programme offerings, application dates and processes, and the phasing out of the NATED programmes.

YOUTH MONTH COMMUNITY OUTREACH AND CAREER EXHIBITIONS
In celebration of Youth Month, Port Elizabeth TVET College was invited to participate in a series of career exhibitions and community outreach initiatives held from 18 to 24 June 2026.On 18 June 2026, the College participated in the Youth Empowerment Programme held in Walmer Location. The event was organised by the Department of Social Development in partnership with Community Development, providing an opportunity to engage with young people and community members on education and career development.
On 19 June 2026, the College attended a Community Outreach Programme at the Kuyga Community Hall, Greenbushes, organised by the Parliamentary Constituency Office of Hon. L. Mkutu. The programme focused on empowering community members by creating awareness of educational and career opportunities.On 24 June 2026, the College participated in two career exhibitions. The first was the Career Day held at the Henry Fassie Community Hall in KwaDwesi, organised by the KwaDwesi and KwaMagxaki District Libraries in collaboration with the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality Public Libraries. The second was the Youth Cooperative and Entrepreneurship Empowerment Seminar held at the Xaba Community Hall in Kariega, organised by the Government Communication and Information System (GCIS), Nelson Mandela Bay District.
Throughout these engagements, the College’s Marketing Team provided information to youth and unemployed members of the community on the programmes offered by the College.Attendees were informed about the phasing out of NATED programmes, the occupational programmes available, the 2027 application dates, and the application process, including where and how to apply.

EASTERN CAPE PROVINCIAL YOUTH DAY CELEBRATIONS 2026
The Eastern Cape Provincial Youth Day Celebrations took place today, 16 June 2026, at the eMaxesibeni Multi-Purpose Community Centre in Umzimvubu Local Municipality, Alfred Nzo District. The event commemorated the legacy of the youth of 16 June 1976, while celebrating a new generation of young leaders, innovators, entrepreneurs, and trailblazers who are shaping the future of the province.As part of the celebrations, all eight Eastern Cape TVET colleges participated in an exhibition. They provided information to unemployed youth, school learners, and community members about the diverse educational and training opportunities available within the TVET sector. The exhibition also aimed to address misconceptions and challenge the stigma often associated with TVET colleges, highlighting their crucial role in skills development, job creation, and economic growth.
Mr. Oscar Mabuyane, the Premier of the Eastern Cape, delivered the keynote address, emphasising the importance of empowering young people through education, skills development, entrepreneurship, and active participation in the economy to build a prosperous future for the province.
Today was not just a commemoration; it was a celebration of youth resilience, excellence, and the limitless potential of a generation that continues to lead, innovate, and redefine the future of the Eastern Cape.
CAREER EXHIBITION IN JEFFREYS BAY
The College was invited to participate in the Seventh-day Adventist Church Youth Cape Conference and Career Exhibition, held on Friday, 12 June 2026, at Mentorskraal in Jeffreys Bay.The purpose of the event was to empower young people by exposing them to various career opportunities, engaging with them on their future aspirations, and introducing the range of programmes offered by the College.
Mr David Velapi, Russell Road Campus Manager, formed part of the panel discussion and delivered a presentation on the programmes available at the College. His presentation highlighted the phasing out of NATED programmes and the introduction of Occupational Programmes, providing valuable insight into current developments within the TVET sector.
The College extends its sincere appreciation to Mr Velapi for accompanying the Marketing Department and for his informative and well-received presentation, which contributed significantly to the success of the event.
CAREER EXPO AT ANDREW RABIE HIGH SCHOOL
The College was invited to participate in a career expo at Andrew Rabie High School on Thursday, 23 April 2026.The purpose of the visit was to engage with Grade 10, Grade 11, and Grade 12 learners and provide them with information on what the College has to offer.
Learners were informed about the phasing out of NATED programmes, NCV programmes, as well as the introduction of occupational programmes that will be available at the College.
In addition, the learners were guided through the online application process, including key dates and requirements.
Appreciation is extended to the Marketing team for representing the College professionally.
IQHAYIYA CAMPUS HOSTS HILLSIDE TECHNICAL HIGH SCHOOL VISIT
On Thursday, 9 April 2026, the College’s Iqhayiya Campus hosted a visit from Hillside Technical High School. The delegation comprised 49 Grade 12 learners and two educators.
During the visit, learners were allowed to tour the campus workshops, providing them with valuable insight to support informed decisions regarding applications to higher education institutions for the 2027 academic year.

CAREER EXPO AT NEWTON TECHNICAL HIGH SCHOOL
The College attended a Career Expo at Newton Technical High School on Wednesday, 25 March 2026.
The purpose of the expo was to inform Grade 11 and 12 learners about the programmes offered by the College, including the phasing out of NATED programmes, available occupational programmes, as well as the application process and key dates for the 2027 academic year.
The event was a successful and informative engagement at Newton Technical High School.
ENGAGING GRADE 12 AT HILLSIDE TECHNICAL HIGH SCHOOL
The College visited Hillside Technical High School on Thursday, 12 February 2026.
The purpose of the visit was to inform the Grade 12 learners about the programmes offered by the College, as well as the application process, deadlines, and required documents.
It was an engaging and informative interaction with the learners.
FIND YOUR FUTURE EXPO AT ALEXANDER ROAD HIGH SCHOOL
Port Elizabeth TVET College visited Alexander Road High School on Monday, 2 February 2026, to participate in the first-ever Find Your Future Expo.
The purpose of the expo was to provide Grade 12 learners with insight into the college’s programmes, the application process, important deadlines, and the required documentation.
The event was a resounding success.
FIRST CAREER EXHIBITION 2026
The 2026 Career Exhibition campaign commenced with a visit to Otto du Plessis High School in Algoa Park, Gqeberha, on Friday, 23 January 2026.
The College team engaged with Grade 10, 11 and 12 learners, providing information on the programmes offered by the College, the phasing out of NATED programmes, and the introduction of Occupational Programmes. Learners were also advised on application dates and the importance of keeping their contact details up to date.
