About Us

Port Elizabeth TVET College is an institution for tomorrow with a rich illustrious past. We focus on developing people today to enable them to face the challenges of tomorrow by equipping them with relevant practical skills to enable them to attain their dreams and aspirations. This underpins our vision of being the preferred provider of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Programmes, which complement the human resource and skills development needs of a competitive, developing nation.

Our three main campuses: Dower Campus, Iqhayiya Campus and Russell Road Campus are reflected in our logo which signifies unity and strength in order to empower students with quality, market-related skills in order to contribute to the sociology-economic development of the country.

Why PE TVET College
Quite simply, Port Elizabeth TVET College performs with excellence as a priority. Our approach to education is largely driven by the will to exceed expectations. Complacency has not followed our accolades and achievements; instead we always strive to improve our performance. Port Elizabeth College caters for driven individuals with the knowledge that education is the fundamental entity of our prospering nation.

Why consider TVET
The TVET sector is one that offers endless opportunities for the student, the chosen industry and the community at large. The main responsibility of the TVET sector is to equip skilled individuals to meet the requirements for sustainable economic growth and development. Competent students receive the National Certificate (Vocational) NC(V) qualification after the all three levels, namely, Level 2, 3, and 4 on the National Qualification Framework (NQF).

Financial Bursaries
In order to give the youth access to our TVET College, the government has made funds available in the form of bursaries to qualifying students that are in need of financial assistance and are able to demonstrate potential for academic success. The Department of Education TVET College bursary scheme assists students or intending to enrol at TVET Colleges for National Certificate Vocational (NCV) programmes, but who are unable to fund their studies. Students may apply based on the Means test administered by the college. The college manages the bursary award process.

  • A South African citizen
  • Enrolled or intending to enrol for the NC(V)
  • In need of financial assistance
  • Able to demonstrate potential for academic achievement

Minimum Requirements
A year end school report grade 9, 10, 11 and 12
