MARKET DAY AT DOWER CAMPUS

It was an exciting and enjoyable day at Dower Campus on Tuesday, 23 March 2026, as the Office Administration Level 4 students hosted their Market Day.
The Market Day formed part of the practical assessment requirements for their New Venture Creation subject within the curriculum.
This initiative provided students with the opportunity to apply their theoretical knowledge in a real business environment.

PRAYER SESSION AT DOWER CAMPUS

A prayer session was organised and facilitated by the College SRC at Dower Campus on Wednesday, 29 October 2025, to pray for the students as they prepare for their forthcoming final examinations.

We would like to take this opportunity to wish all students well in their final exams and every success in their academic endeavours.

PANSALB TRAINING

The 5-Day PanSALB Training took place at Dower Campus, from 20 to 24 October 2025. The training was conducted by officials from PanSALB.

 

The initiative aimed to promote inclusive communication and raise awareness among participants.

Staff members actively participated, engaged in the activities, and found the training to be enjoyable and informative.

CCMA HARASSMENT TRAINING SESSION AT DOWER CAMPUS

On Wednesday, 15 October 2025, staff members attended a one-day training session on the Prevention and Elimination of Harassment in the Workplace, facilitated by the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA). The session took place at the Dower Campus.

 

The training focused on raising awareness and building the capacity of employees to identify, prevent, and address all forms of harassment in the workplace, in alignment with the organisation’s newly adopted policy. This initiative forms part of the institution’s ongoing commitment to fostering a safe, respectful, and inclusive working environment.

Management extends its sincere appreciation to all staff who attended the session and actively participated in the discussions. Their engagement reflects a shared commitment to upholding the values of dignity, equality, and mutual respect in the workplace.

CREATING SAFER COMMUNITIES TOGETHER

Dower Campus successfully hosted an Awareness Campaign on Thursday, 11 September 2025, at Dower Campus, focusing on critical social issues including Gender-Based Violence (GBV), bullying, and substance/alcohol abuse.

 

We extend our sincere appreciation to both internal and external stakeholders who graciously availed themselves to attend and actively participate in the programme, despite their demanding schedules. Your presence and contributions significantly enriched the success of the event.

Transport and Logistics Students Lead Road Safety Dialogue at Dower Campus

On Thursday, 12 June 2025, Transport and Logistics students at Dower Campus participated in a thought-provoking Work-Based Experience (WBE) session focused on the pressing issue of road safety challenges affecting the youth.

The interactive session allowed students to share perspectives, explore practical solutions, and discuss the use of various platforms to promote road safety awareness. This important dialogue was enriched by the presence of key stakeholders and industry experts from:

  • SANRAL (South African National Roads Agency)

  • Road Accident Fund (RAF)

  • Liquor Board

  • Department of Transport – Law Enforcement

  • Department of Transport – Special Programmes Unit (SPU)

  • Public Transport Department

The event was well-attended and fostered meaningful engagement between students and professionals, providing valuable insights into real-world challenges and encouraging active participation in shaping safer roads for all.

This WBE session not only reinforced the importance of road safety but also empowered students to become advocates for change within their communities.
