DHET NATIONAL OFFICE OVERSIGHT VISIT

The DHET National Office conducted an oversight visit to the College, Iqhayiya Campus, on Friday, 13 February 2026, to monitor the 2026 enrolment process. The delegation was led by Ms Kalele from the National Office and included representatives from the DHET Regional Office: Ms Mbontsi, Ms Tsotso, and Ms Biyana.
The purpose of the visit was to monitor the enrolment intake process, review the relevant monitoring tools, and assess the College’s alignment with the Maturity Model. The programme commenced with a walkabout of the campus, including visits to the workshops, followed by a formal engagement and further discussions.
The College achieved an overall Level 3 rating in terms of the Maturity Model.
We extend our sincere appreciation to all staff members who contributed towards the successful implementation of the 2026 enrolment process.

DHET MONITORING AT DOWER CAMPUS

On Wednesday, 7 January 2026, officials from the Regional DHET Office, Ms Mbontsi and Mr Meso, visited the College, Dower Campus.
The purpose of the visit was to monitor the implementation of the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for enrolment for the 2026 academic year. A walkabout was conducted across all registration stations.
The DP Registar’s office, Ms Matikinca, extends her appreciation to Ms Kiewiets and her team at Dower Campus, as well as the Central Office team, for their dedication and hard work.

DHET MONITORING VISIT: SOP ENROLMENT

Ms Mbontsi, Ms Maduna and Mr Meso from the Regional DHET Office visited the College, Dower Campus, on Monday, 17 November 2025, to monitor the College’s SOP Enrolment Processes.

The College was scored on each sub-process, with the following results:

  • Marketing, Advocacy and Enquiry Management – 95%
  • Provision of Career and Programme Advisory Services – 88%
  • Submission of Applications by New Students – 100%
  • Selection and Admission of New Students – 100%
  • Selection and Admission of Returning Students – 94%

The College achieved an overall score of 69%, which corresponds to Level 2 on the Maturity Model (Implementation Stage), indicating room for improvement.

EC SOP DEBRIEFING SESSION

The Eastern Cape Regional DHET Office conducted an SOP debriefing session with Port Elizabeth TVET College and Eastcape Midlands TVET College. Port Elizabeth TVET College hosted the session at the Russell Road Campus on 21 and 22 October 2025. The facilitation was led by Ms Mbontsi and Ms Biyana.

The purpose of the debriefing session was to identify areas for improvement and gather insights to enhance existing processes.

Attendees actively participated, engaged meaningfully, and offered their full support throughout the session. The engagements proved to be highly productive, and both colleges are now well-prepared for the forthcoming SOP monitoring scheduled for November 2025.
