I am truly honoured to have been appointed as the Head of the College Leadership Collective, effective from 1 October 2025. I have always defined every college stakeholder as a “service delivery agent” who must be supported and respected. With that said, under my leadership, the College Council, College Management Team, SRC, Lecturers, Administrative and Support Staff, labour formations, and partners will be respected and supported.
Inequality, poverty, and unemployment remain pressing challenges in our country, even after the advent of democracy. While progress has been made in addressing these triple challenges, much more still needs to be done. The TVET sector has a critical role to play in empowering our young people with the skills they need to thrive in an ever-changing world of technology and innovation.
Student success and placement rates must remain our key focus as we navigate the daily storms and challenges of our sector.
I look forward to a productive working relationship with all stakeholders of our college. Together, let us take Port Elizabeth TVET College to greater heights.
I thank you.
Mr Khulwane Allen Riba
PE TVET College Principal, 1 October 2025
